I recently received an email form Scott Lutz concerning bacterial
levels found in community wells (see related article in HOT TOPICS). Loudoun Water is monitoring this issue
closely and is routinely chlorinating the well to be sure it is safe
for residents. The issue for those on private wells (first hamlet) is
that your wells are most likely tapping into the same underground source of
water. So, it is incumbent of private well owners to not only be aware
of this issue but to be sure your wells are routinely tested for
