I'm looking forward to this meeting. I'm hoping there is a good turnout. The more participation, the better the community! There are many good things happening with the HOA.
The HOA Board held their homeowner meeting last night. Here's a summary:
Deputy Sheriff Bruce Domin gave a report on incident reports and traffic control measures. In the last 5 and 1/2 months, 49 citations were issued primarily due to exceeding the speed limit. There were a few "incident reports" but nothing major. Deputy Domin encouraged residents to use the Sheriff's website or to call the non-emergency desk at 703-777-0445 to file a complaint. He assured us that all complaints are followed up.
Scott Lutz gave the financial report and indicated we were in a strong cash equity position for the year even though the expenditures are up slightly and revenue is down due to the decline in new home sales. Result: a slight loss for the year. He does not expect it to get any worse for the remainder of 2007.
Reports were given from the various committees formed this year and all are coming up to speed. Highlighted were the Communications Committee with the results of the first Raspberry social event (pool party held late August) with over 100 attendees. Also of note; the Raspberry Website is reported to be up and available. More formal community announcements will made on or about November 1st.
The Board is considering the addition of one more homeowner to its body. Further news about this to follow.
